The win by the New Orleans Saints in tonight's Super Bowl 31-17 over the heavy favorite Colts shows us that if you believe in yourself if you work hard and make adjustments along the way you can win in football and win in life. The Saints went for it in many ways. They went for it with an onside kick and recovered it. They went for a two-point conversion and were successful after they asked for a replay of the pass from the officials and won that.
 
This should be a wake up call to President Obama and the Democrats in Congress. Three words GO FOR IT!
 
That should be their mantra! On every issue. Jobs bill Health Care the environment and education. If they cannot get the votes from Republicans then ADJUST and go with progressive and left of center Democrats using budget reconciliation and win with 51 votes instead of 60.
 
Tell the American people in simple terms what they are for and whose side they are on. The President and the leadership in Congress should travel the country and tell the people the choice they have to make. Go back to the BUSH doctrine of shoot first and ask questions later give tax breaks to the top two percent and see the middle class die a slow death.
 
If you remind people the tea party activists are angry but they are mad at the wrong people. WE didn't start the fire as Billy Joel sings the GOP did. They controlled the White House for eight years the US Senate and House of Reps for 16 years minus one year in the Senate. So remind the American people what happened then.
 
Create Jobs. Create them at a record pace. Pay respect to President Roosevelt who led the country thru a depression and a World War. We can do it again and we need your help to do it. Ask for the help of your progressive base talk to them in the neighborhoods talk to them at the malls talk to them with passion that together the government yes the government which after all is you and me can make a difference.
 
Remember who was in charge when Katrina happened and who didn't help the people. It was the GOP in charge of the White House and the Government. Don't let people forget about that!
 
Step up and show leadership like Drew Brees, Tracy Porter and Sean Payton. Then we can party in New Orleans and cities across the country!
